New Year New You Challenge: Bold Lipstick Vol. 2!

Hi Guys! Last week we announced the first of the elf 10 New Year New You Challenges which was "Be Bold and wear Bright Lipstick" Sam from customer service has already braved the challenge and sported the gorgeous "Fearless" Lipstick. See her photo here.

Hi Everyone.

Over the next few weeks we will be staging blogger give aways accross our whole range of cosmetics. We want you to review them, either in a written blog or video, but the most important factor is  SWATCHES!

Our view is to create a swatch and review library created by the e.l.f obsessed for the e.l.f obsessed! Who better to showcase and review products honestly and fairly than our customers.

The New Year Challenge

As we embrace the New Year we are all making promises to become better at being ourselves.

Year after year resolutions are made, whether it's taking up a new hobby, aiming to try new things or vowing to be more adventurous! Whilst all these are great, we at Elf Cosmetics are wondering how many of us actually stick to them for long enough?

That is why we have decided to break down the old tradition of making New Years Resolutions and have replaced it with bite sized easy to achieve challenges instead! This way we can all feel the instant satisfaction of completing a goal and feel better about ourselves! Which is the whole point anyway!

So are you up for the challenge? Over the next few weeks we will be setting you different “feel better about me” tasks and all you have to do is ‘accept’ and ‘share’ with the rest of us!

Golden Goddess Nails Tutorial

Hi Guys! We hope you liked the Christmas Nails competition last week! As you know 10 winners were selected to have their fantastic manicures showcased here on the elf blog, and in addition to reward them for their efforts, they will each receive a gorgeous bottle of our "Product of the Week - Golden Goddess"

Anyway we were really impressed by all the entries and so we have been inspired to have a little bash at creating a gorgeous manicure using Golden Goddess ourselves! Please check out our photos below and our little tutorial on how we achieved this simple but elegant look.

How to get these nails:

Step one: Apply two thin coats of the base colour. We used elf nail polish in Nude.

Tip: Always use a base coat before applying nail polish to protect the nails from staining and help your manicure last longer.

Step two: Paint the tips of your nails in a light gold polish, this will help enhance the finish of your Golden Goddess tips. We used elf nail polish in Moonlight.

Tip: To get a perfect smile line hold the brush horizontally against the nail tip and gently follow the natural curve of your nail.

Step three: In the same way that we've just painted the tips, do the same and go over it with a coat of Golden Goddess. Your nails should now look something like this.

Step four: Next we used elf nail polish in Twinkle a clear based multi glitter polish, to blend out the harsh lines between the tip and nail bed. Gently apply Twinkle in a stippling motion over the tip and and about half way down the nail bed. Your nails should resemble something like this, and we're almost done!

To Finish: Apply a coat of Clear top coat, this final step will help even out the surface of the nail for a flawlessly glossy and high shine finish!

Christmas Bauble Nail Design

Hi Guys! There's only 13 days left till Xmas! We're so excited here in the Elf Office today, so we thought we'd be creative and do something festive!

So out came the nail polish, the glitter and some nail files and a few moments later we've managed to muster up some Christmas nails!

Check out our efforts below. Now they're not perfect, but its all in the name of fun! We used a range of the elf nail polishes to create this cute Christmas Bauble Nails!
